21st International Film Festival of Kerala honours noted director K.S.Sethumadhavan, by Showcasing five of his classic films in this festival in the retro package. He has directed 68 films in Malaylayam, Hindi, Orriya, Tamil, and Kannada. English director Ken Loach’s nine films are also to be screened alongside K.S.Sethumadhavan’s films in the retro package. Sethumadhacvan's Films of the prestigious Malayalam films like ,’Anubhavangal Paalichakal’[1971], ’Punnarjanmam[1972],’The Other Side’[Marrupakkam][1990],’ Achanum Bappayum (1972),Adimakal (1969) to be screened on different days .
Trivandrum is set to screen 9 Films of award winning director Ken Loach including ‘Fatherland’, ‘Hidden Agenda’, Riff-Raff, ’Land and Freedom’ and ‘Looking for Eric’. Loach's film ‘Kes’ (1969) which was voted the seventh greatest British film of the 20th century in a poll by the British Film Institute is also be screened in this package
Also famous French filmmaker Mia Hansen Love's five films have been included in the Contemporary Filmmaker in Focus package this year. Her film ‘The Father of My Children’, won the Special Jury Prize in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival. This package also includes her films ‘All is Forgiven [2007], ‘Goodbye First Love [2011], ‘Eden’ [2014], and ‘Things to Come’ [2016].
