Mudiyettu: Off the Celluloid

The colour and its adorned prevalence is nowhere more phenomenal than in regional folk arts. Mudiyettu, temple art forms of Kerala is rapturous with all the riots of colour and fire. As a part of IFFK Folk festival, it is taking the audience to the sublimity of joy.Mudiyettu which is to perform tomorrow at Tagore theatre will take the spectators to another level of appreciation. Mudiyettu will be performed by the traditional artist V N Narayana Kurup Aassan and group.
Mudiyettu generally performed in temples, more in southern and central part of Kerala. The scenario of its depiction is the bloody battle between the Goddess Kali and the demon Dharika.
