Voices from the festival

For me, film festivals provide a feeling of globe-trotting. The participation of more delegates, especially young people makes me happy. The new experiments in curation are also a welcoming step. The flaws that we may come across in each fest can be rectified for bettering the future festivals.

The inclusion of categories like ‘Gender Bender’ can be considered as a progressive attempt. I’m expecting more good movies in the coming days.

Films are powerful enough to reflect various shades of life. The theme, migration, enables us to get a better perspective of the world as it shows movies from geographically different and distinct regions.

Films play a great role in deconstructing the binaries. IFFK transcends the gender boundaries. It can be considered as an Oasis in a desert. – Jayan Cheriyan, Director.

Feeling happy since IFFK made an effort to narrow the discrimination towards a group of people
