The movies of the bygone ages may not be acceptable to posterity as each cinema narrates the history of an age, said veteran director K P Kumaran. He was speaking in an open forum titled’ Malayalam cinema and 60 years of state formation’ of the IFFK. The classic films of the language should be retrieved and preserved, since each film finds expression in the spectator’s mind, he added. The open forum discussed the role of film societies in the development of Malayalam cinema.
Film critic Vijaya Krishnan, Directors P.T Kunju Muhammed and Shanavas Bavakkutty were participated in the discussion and moderated by Saritha Menon.
